We recognise that planning for emergencies is an integral part of fulfilling our mandate of protecting the health of the public in the borough of Southwark.
Planning ensures the resilience of the NHS Southwark as an organisation through the continuation of critical services whilst supporting and delivering the necessary response to any emergency or major incident.
It also allows us to manage recovery whether the incident has effects locally, regionally, or nationally, within the context of the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
