Richard was chief executive of Kingston and Richmond Health Authority for 12 years. Since retiring from that position he has worked as a management consultant mainly on helping NHS organisations to exploit information technology to improve the quality and safety of patient care. Before that most of Richard’s career was in the Department of Health applying operational research and statistics to the analysis of policy and management issues. He became director of statistics and management information and also led the development of NHS Performance Indicators. He also worked for two years with the central policy review staff at the Cabinet Office briefing Cabinet Ministers on policy options. Richard has lived in Southwark for 36 years. He is a trustee of Pembroke House, a charity supporting community and youth activity in Walworth.

Park
Robert has been a Non-Executive Director of Southwark PCT since May 2005, when he was still an independent consultant specialising in helping organisations understand and address strategic issues. His career experiences have spanned the public, private and voluntary sectors. As part of his freelance activities, he was an Associate Director of the Ashridge Strategic Management Centre (ASMC) for a number of years. ASMC specialise in corporate level strategy and the role of the parent company in major multi-business companies. Prior to that, Robert had over 25 years’ experience in the UK financial services industry, with nearly 12 at senior level with the Nat West Group. As Head of Group Strategy, he was at the heart of the strategic decision making process. He started his career in the steel industry, and worked for 3 years in the 1970's for the Greter London Council before moving to the City. Robert has lived in inner south London since graduating in 1967, and in Southwark for the past 35 years. During this time, he has been actively involved in two local voluntary sector organisations. Since 1974, he has been a trustee of the Cambridge House Settlement, a centre for social and community action in Camberwell, and served as Chair from 1998 - 2009. He also chairs theboard of trustees of Elephant Jobs, which was set up in 1976 as a job support scheme for unemployed school leavers and adults in South London, and now encompasses a range of projects in support of sustainable development of the local economy and its communities.
