When you exercise, your body produces feel-good chemicals called endorphins that can help beat the blues.
Exercise strengthens joints, gives you more energy and helps to ward off illness - and it doesn't have to be too vigorous.
Regular exercise protects against heart disease, stroke and diabetes, and helps to maintain healthy muscles, bones and joints. It boosts your immune system and helps relieve stress and anxiety.
Best of all, it will keep you looking trimmer and younger, with healthier skin and more energy.
So what are you waiting for? Go, go, go!
1. Reduce time spent sitting down: it’s not too difficult to build activity into your day – even if your job means you sit for a lot of the time, that’s no barrier. Indeed, by simply standing or walking about for a short while, you’ll feel some reward – before building up to being active for 30 minutes, five times a week.
2. Get active when travelling: It’s often hard to find time in our busy lives to engage in activity, so why not build it into your daily routine? Walk to work, take the dog for longer walks or walk to the shops, for instance?
3. Take up an active hobby: Being active should be fun. If we don’t enjoy it, we won’t continue. So if jogging’s not for you, try more walking, cycling or dancing – anything that gets the heart beating faster and the lungs working harder for at least ten minutes at a time.

Whether you are looking for Aerobics classes, a Rugby club or even something new & exciting like Tai Chi or Fencing, Get Active London will help you find it all here.
