Deprivation
Of the four localities in Southwark, Dulwich is in general the least deprived. Areas in the north of the locality tend to be more deprived, whilst in the south, with the exception of two areas in College ward which have deprivation scores of 10-20% (one of these being the Kingswood Estate), most areas are relatively affluent.
Housing tenure
Of the four localities Dulwich has the highest proportion of homes that are detached or semi-detached and the smallest proportion that are socially rented. The type of accommodation is much more variable than the other localities.
Overcrowding
In the 2001 census, while Dulwich had a lower proportion of households that were overcrowded (17%) than Southwark as a whole (25%), there are still many more overcrowded households than nationally (7%).
