This report reviews the main issues affecting decisions to be made about the future location and type of breast screening units provided by the South East London Breast Screening Programme (SELBSP) in the area covered by Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham Primary Care Trusts (PCTs). It has been commissioned by Southwark PCT on behalf of the three PCTs. This has been undertaken against a background of persistent low uptake compared to other parts of south east London, an expansion of the programme to a wider age range of women, and the impending raising of the national target for coverage from 70% to 80%.
in the document links (below) you will find a summary of the report, also a commissioned study to explore the views of women aged 50 to 64 about breast cancer screening.
