Needle Exchange Services

Needle exchange is a valuable and effective service, aiming to improve the health of injecting drug users, and reduce the spread of infections such as HIV and Hepatitis B and C.  

Needle exchange services allow injecting drug users access to clean injecting equipment, which they are encouraged to return when used. They offer much more than just needles, as it is important that sterile equipment is used every time a drug is prepared and injected.  

Needle exchange services are provided from a range of sites including drug and alcohol services, a mobile needle exchange bus and community pharmacists. Locations are detailed in the documents listed below.
