The Safer Southwark's Partnership's (SSP) vision is to make Southwark a place where everyone who lives, works or visits feels safe. And we want to make Southwark safer in ways that meet the needs and concerns of all sections of the community.

The SSP website includes information on Southwark's Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT), who are the partnership responsible for delivering and implementing the national drug strategy at a local level.

Drugscope provides quality drug information, promotes effective responses to drug taking, undertakes research at local, national and international levels, advises on policy-making, encourage informed debate and speak for our member bodies working on the ground. They publish a wide range of material aimed at various professionals, researchers, policy makers and drug users. Information services provide details of local drug services and projects and, through its library, information on all aspects of drug misuse. Alcohol Concern is a national agency on alcohol misuse which works to reduce the incidence and costs of alcohol-related harm and to increase the range and quality of services available to people with alcohol-related problems.

The Drug Education Forum is the umbrella body for national organisations that deliver or support the delivery of drug education. The Forum promotes the provision of effective drug education for all children and young people in England.

Since 1967 Release has offered a range of specialist services to professionals and the public concerning drugs and the law. Release is both a registered charity (801118) and a Company Limited by Guarantee (1966619). The service provides advice to drug users, their families, friends, and statutory and voluntary agencies. Advice is free, professional, non-judgmental and confidential. A Legal Helpline and a Heroin Helpline operate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays to Fridays on 0845 4500215.
